Kabelo Kholo Kholo “Our Leader”
Born at the Royal Bucks where his Zulu mother was in a nursing post, Kabelo spent his early childhood in Lesotho where his Father was a Bishop of the Church.
At school in England at 12 he was taken under the wing of the Evans family, there spending most of his teenage years. The man he calls Dad, a distinguished international entrepreneur and an MBE is his partner in the new venture.
Kabelo has what seems to be the natural essence of any great Chef, a perfect sense of taste and smell. His path to the career started at the bottom of the kitchen hierarchy in a local village inn.
From that start, a 27 year learning curve working for and with some of the most talented Chefs in their various fields. It is a long and distinguished list from the robust training by Raymond Blanc at Le Manoir, through to such establishments as Champneys and the Glass House at the Grove.
Additional flavour was added with an executive role for the Saudi Royal family in Riyadh and being the personal Chef to a very interesting man, Vinnie Jones. Kabelo was head hunted by the owners of the Cosmo Group, rounding off his managerial and motivational skills with 18 restaurants to add his passion for quality.
So now to the first location of his own, something special to tackle where the balance between a unique list of experiences must be coupled with a relevant offering. Only time will tell but what is certain is that the challenge will be met with energy, passion and undoubted charm.
